COVID-19: Learning and School Community Continuity Planning
Dear School Leader,
We are certainly living in unprecedented times! Online learning, remote communication, and new ways of interacting with schools are our current reality — and at Future Design School, we want to support you during this unique time period.
We have been fielding calls from schools and districts across North America who are looking for support to develop communications for their stakeholders, look for best practices in online learning, and sometimes just get some moral support as they plan to close their buildings and move to virtual classrooms.
We want you to know we are here to help! Our team of educators are actively working on rolling out free resources for the teachers and parents in your communities in an effort to support students everywhere.
In addition, our strategy team has been engaging with school leaders in their contingency planning. We know that all schools are on a spectrum of implementation of their COVID-19 plans. Some are in full scale online learning implementation, while others are just thinking about how to get started. Some schools are looking for emotional support and coaching for their teachers, and others are looking for ways to encourage and empower their instant remote workforce.
With that in mind, we have compiled this guide. It’s a living document featuring our thoughts and a wide range of key considerations and recommendations for school leaders in this moment of transition. We hope they might be helpful to you!
